Sit down with Ali Marcus for a conversation with Michaela Corning, modest fashion designer and founder of Barakah Beauty Collective, for a conversation about the importance of welcoming spaces for the Muslim community, for women, and the growth of the arts community.
Learn more about Barakah Beauty Collective, Michaela Corning's fashion brand, and the upcoming fashion show in Bellevue on September 20, Threads of Renewal.

Hi, I'm looking for a web designer to assist with a redesign of a Squarespace website. I'd appreciate any leads or recommendations!
Are you someone with strong computer skills to edit and write?
Are you available for in-person work like placing orders for supplies, receiving orders for books, packaging and mailing books, managing consulting contracts, and other miscellaneous tasks?
I have a lead on a very part-time role supporting a one-of-a-kind creative professional in the area. Reach out if you want to learn more!
Celebrate the season! Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park is starting a new holiday tradition. We are hosting local artists and artesans selling one of a kind creations for the holidays. We encourage vendors to create and sell a 2026 holiday ornament to go along with Live Holiday Tree sales at the park.
To learn more, please see our website
Spend any summer weekend day at Lake Sammamish State Park and it is easy to believe it is the second most visited state park in Washington- almost 3 million visitors a year and the busiest times are summer weekends. Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park aims to support the park and park staff during the busy season and to enhance and promote the park in the 'slower' seasons. This year, we want to highlight and celebrate the different times of the year and different pace of life in the wild setting.
Cooling temperatures and smaller crowds are a great indication of the harvest season, which FLSSP will celebrate this year with Walk n Wag Harvest. We will again celebrate our 4-legged friends as their coats bulk up to prepare for cooler weather.
We are still trying to find the best event format and hope you will stick with us as we tweak and test new formats to best meet the needs of our community. This October 18, we are testing combining the Walk n Wag walk with a harvest festival aimed to celebrate the historic apple orchard that FLSSP is in the middle of preserving! As a vendor, we think this is a unique opportunity to support a local park as well as connect with the community that shares your values. Your vendor fees go directly to FLSSP and allow us to continue to host community events, bring educational programming to the park and restore different habitats around the park.
The Walk n Wag event starts and stops at a cozy fire where you can roast marshmallows and sample dog treats. We are hosting the event out of the Rotunda Shelter at the park for a cozier event.
Then the 3k walk winds its way through the historic apple orchard and other fruit-bearing plants throughout the park. After the walk, visit dog-related vendors at the Doggie Village and enjoy various talks and demonstrations. The walk will begin at 12pm and the village will be open until 4pm.
Vendor registration fee is $100
Non-profit organization registration fee is $50
Smaller Artist Booth $50
To learn more about being a vendor or to register to become a Walk n Wag vendor please visit our vendor page here. If you have any other questions related to being a vendor please contact FLSSP operations manager, Sarah Polster Tribble, at [email protected].
If you would like to be included in our vendor village map we need your registration by August 31, 2026.
In years past, Walk n Wag has drawn up to 400 dogs and their families. We are hoping with this new concept and time to welcome large crowds again this fall. We’d love to feature your business or organization as part of this welcoming celebration. As a valuable member of our community, we are writing to invite you to join our vendor village to showcase your work, sell your products, and offer your services to the public.
New 3rd space! Join us every Wednesday night 7-9 pm at the BelRed Arts Studio for an open mic & jam. This is for all skill levels and genres. All musicians, comedians, poets, dancers… everyone is welcome. Please tell your friends and help spread the word.

Finished a pair of wings that will flank the stage at Aire Craft Festival. I’m excited to add the wind and see them flutter.
